Nottingham Forest Mobsters return to the HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens after losing to Discovery Bay in last year’s Cup final on their return to the tournament after missing both the 2016 and 2017 events.
Last year, Nottingham Forest Mobsters beat HKFC Chairman’s Select, SCC Masters and Yau Yee League Masters but were forced to settle for a second place in the group after losing to Citi All Stars.
Nottingham Forest Mobsters earned their first Cup final appearance following a semi-final victory over Wallsend Boys Club, but missed out on the trophy after losing to Discovery Bay.
They reached the semi-finals in 2012 and 2014 having also progressed to the Plate semi-finals in 2010.
Nottingham Forest Mobsters have a track record of bringing strong squads and high-profile names from within the club’s history to the event, with former England midfielder Neil Webb and two-time European Cup-winning captain John McGovern among those to have appeared in Hong Kong over the years.
Ex-England international defender Des Walker and fellow former Nottingham Forest favourite Des Lyttle have also featured for Nottingham Forest Mobsters at Hong Kong Football Club.
