HKFC Masters are one of two teams in the Masters tournament to represent hosts Hong Kong Football Club at the annual seven-a-side event.
The Happy Valley select team have a strong record at the HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens, although in the previous two editions of the competition they have failed to progress beyond the group stage. Last year a goalless draw with Singapore Cricket Club Tigers was their best result as defeats to Yau Yee League Masters, Wallsend Boys Club and Citi All Stars left them bottom of Group B.
However, in 2014 HKFC Masters won their first and only piece of silverware at the annual tournament when they defeated Singapore Cricket Club Tigers 1-0 in the Plate final. That victory came on the back of advancing in the Cup competition for four consecutive years.
In 2011 and 2013, the host side made it to the Cup semi-finals before falling just short after defeats to Hong Kong team Eastern Salon Top Class and Ajax All Stars. There were also quarter-final appearances in 2010 and 2012 as HKFC Masters enjoyed a four-year spell of advancing to at least the last eight.
After a disappointing two years, HKFC Veterans return looking to progress beyond the group stage for the first time since 2014.
