The HKFC IP GLOBAL International Soccer 7's Tournament was established in 1999. Using a 7 a-side format the idea is to encapture and showcase the most exciting elements of the game of Football using a formula similar to that of the Rugby 7's. This format highlights free flowing, attack minded football and rewards the spectators with flair and goals.
 
Now going into its 9th Year, the Soccer 7's has established itself as THE best 7 a-side Tournament of its kind in the world. With the Tournament's two sided format (Masters Tournament and Main Tournament) spectators get to see the best of the past and the future. The Masters Tournament exhibits footballs Legends of yesteryear with players such as Jurgen Klinsmann, Andreas Moller, John Barnes, Chris Waddle and Uwe Bein among the World Class regulars that return year after year.

In the Main Tournament the stars of the future are on show where a host of the Worlds best under 21 players from some of the biggest clubs in the world including Arsenal, Chelsea, PSV, Manchester United, Urawa Red Diamonds, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspurs, Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers compete.The Soccer 7's has launched the careers of a host of top class footballers. Glen Johnson, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Sean Davis, Liam Ridgwell, Stephen McManus, Shaun Maloney, Ismael Aissati and David Bentley just to name a few all arrived in Hong Kong as budding young professionals who have now gone on to become fully fledged International Footballers.
 
Each year the event is growing considerably. This is highlighted by the global TV coverage the Soccer 7's now receives with a slew of footage shown on Sky Sports in the UK and on Now TV and ESPN.
